The Concurrent Versions System, and more recently its greatly enhanced variant CVSNT, is one of the most widely used version control systems in both commercial and non-commercial projects of all sizes, ranging from the single-developer hobby freeware to large-scale business automation frameworks maintained by thousands of developers all over the world. Though its featureset is powerful (especially in the CVSNT incarnation) and its initial cost is surprisingly low, many developers shy away at the perceived "low-levelness" that most of the available online-documentation suggests.

And even many of the developers already using CVS or CVSNT are often not tapping its full potential. Many advanced and useful functionalities that are already there for grabs lie unnoticed and get reinvented and reimplemented unnecessarily over and over again.
